Vision & Mission

Little London is a British Pre-Prep Language School with a vision to enable our future world citizens to be on an equal and competitive footing at an international level.

With this, our mission is to foster communication and language development in our young learners while also nurturing their intellectual, personal and socio-emotional growth. We achieve this by inculcating in them a confident command over spoken English (the world’s lingua franca) along with well-roundedness, through enriching experiences that are beyond traditional classroom teachings.

Our Philosophy

At Little London, we believe in the science that in their early years, children are predisposed to acquiring new languages with near-native fluency, and the foundation that is laid down at this stage has a life-long impact.

To make the most of this window of opportunity, we provide Language Nutrition (explained below) to our young learners in English. This builds a strong foundation for children that enables them to acquire the world language both authentically and effortlessly, right from the start, through language-rich interactions in a playful and experiential setting.

Language Nutrition

Early exposure to language-rich interactions between adults and children forms the basis of Language Nutrition, a term created to describe the use of language sufficiently rich in engagement, quality, quantity, and context that it nourishes the child neurologically, socially, and linguistically. Just as a child needs an adequate amount of nutritious food for physical growth, so too does a child need language for his or her brain development.

Importance of the Mother Tongue

While our focus is on the overall development of children through spoken English (as an additional language), we also place high importance on the development of our learners’ first language at home. Research shows that having a strong foundation in the first language helps children transfer their experiences to the new language, making the second language acquisition process easier. Therefore, we strongly advise parents to maintain their children’s natural exposure to their mother tongue at home.
